OpenAI says GPT-6.1 Sol is dramatically better at migrating legacy code

OpenAI said its newer models have substantially improved at writing and migrating software in older programming languages. Examples include COBOL, Fortran, and Visual Basic, which are used in banking, payments, weather forecasting, and nuclear reactor safety analysis, among other areas.
