NIKKE PC game launcher hacked to spread remote access and data-stealing malware

The developers of Goddess of Victory: NIKKE reported that a third party tampered with the game's PC launcher scripts. The modified scripts could download malicious code from attacker-controlled servers, enabling remote command execution, file browsing and downloading, screenshot capture, and theft of NIKKE account and browser data. The malware could also steal cryptocurrency wallet data stored in browser extensions, but it is unknown whether this component was deployed or whether cryptocurrency was stolen.
