A Russia-Based Hacking Rampage Hits US Agencies and Exposes Millions — Clop / MOVEit
US cybersecurity officials said that a small number of government agencies suffered data breaches as part of a broad campaign likely carried out by the Russia-based ransomware group Clop. The group exploited a vulnerability in the MOVEit file-transfer service to steal data from victims. Named victims include Shell, British Airways, and the BBC, while Louisiana and Oregon driver’s-license and identification data affected millions of residents.
